Watchers

A few weeks ago I put together an art book "One With Everything" which collects all of my best know pop culture centric comics and illustrations (many of which you've seen here) into one big glossy full-color book, available here for just 10 bucks.

And now I'm offering up the pdf for FREE!

Not a hoax! Not a scam! Not a pirated copy! A totally legit digital copy of the book direct from the actual creator of it and for absolutely NO MONEY!

All you need is a Twitter or Facebook account (and who doesn't have one of those these days?). The download link will make exactly ONE POST on your twitter or facebook account and nothing more, forever. It's a one-time thing and your info won't be harvested and  won't get signed up for anything, honest, I just want AS MANY PEOPLE AS POSSIBLE to download the book - so be sure to tell all your little nerd friends too!

Just click here: [link] ,  follow the instructions and enjoy the book!

Let me see if I have this clear: you're actually publishing your own comics?! Maybe you can help me, because I'm looking into the final stage of comic making: publishing. That, and should I "Begin," I wouldn't mind some "professional criticism."

Can you help me, please?

Yes, I self-publish.
I don't know how much help I can give, but I can point you to some online resources, that's how I figured it out.
But I started 6 years ago, things have changed since then. Right now and for the foreseeable future it seems like web comics are the way to go. If I was starting out right now, that's what I would do.

OK...I'll keep that in mind, although I don't understand how that would help in the capital field. I might make my series a web comic initially, but should it become popular enough, I might start putting it to print. But as a web comic, I still worry about people stealing my ideas, and I'm not positive on uploading hand-drawn imagery to the web (for one, I think I can use a scanner to do that, but even then I'd be only uploading rough drafts, because part of the essence of "publishing" is to make the imagery presentable and professional quality, and this is part of my burden: translating rough drafts into a nice-looking final products).

Seriously, thanks for giving me this advice. :D

No problem!
You should get your hands on a scanner if you're drawing your work by hand. Even for print comics it's going to go into the computer at some point. It's good that you can recognize your art is still rough - I would work on making it more polished first, there are lots of tutorials online about how to do that, here on DA, on YouTube, all over really, just do a search. "Comic book artwork tutorial" "Comic art inking" etc. Practice, practice, practice, get your work as best as you can, as good as the comics currently being published or better - THEN worry about publishing. In the meantime while you're getting to that level, post as much to the web as possible - get feedback, make connections, make friends, support each other. Always be nice, but always be honest too. And don't worry about people stealing your ideas from posting on the web - just make sure you indicate that you're the creator when you post your artwork and you should be fine. DA does this automatically with everything you post, so it's pretty safe here. People borrow and adapt other people's ideas all the time, it comes with the territory, but if it's outright plagiarism you can always point to your original work if/when you see someone ripping you off. I have been in this very situation myself - and it always worked out in my favor, the web is very democratic that way.
Good luck!

Finally!
Action Philosophers' brazilian edition was published.
I'm reading it right now, is really cool! :reading:
The publisher announced the first issue many months before the publication, it made me doubt that would be really published.
